The Opportunity:
Our client is looking to hire a qualified embedded-system software engineer with previous automotive software experience. German speaking skills would be a strong PLUS in this position.
Required Qualifications:
The desired candidate has 8 or more years experience and possesses the skills to read and manipulate engine and transmission control software, as well as to understand current automotive systems layouts.
Automotive software disassembly skills using IDA-Pro or similar are required for success in this position.
Also required:
- ability to understand and manipulate the hex files for new functionality used in vehicles
- abilities to conceptualize, layout, write, develop, and integrate new software functionality for improved automotive engine control
In order to be considered, applicants should have recent automotive software experience with Siemens® or Bosch® production-car engine control systems and their respective development environments.
Current automotive knowledge of electronic throttle control via torque structure management is a MUST.
Experience working with Freescale PowerPC® and Infineon TriCore® architectures, along with CAN and Flexray® communication protocol knowledge, would be a clear PLUS.
Bilingual English-German or German-English!
German language skills would be highly beneficial for this position.
